WHY SHOULD I ENTER MY WORK IN A PEGASUS AWARDS COMPETITION?
-The
Pegasus Awards competition is one of the most respected in the industry.
Through unbiased peer review and constructive, positive judges comments, your
clients will be confident that the work you are performing for them is
exceptional.
-The publicity
the Pegasus Awards generates for entrants is invaluable. We provide winners
with the tools and assistance to create positive impressions in national and
local media. And receiving an award from a respected competition is an
important marketing point to be used on your company website, marketing
materials and resume.
- The Pegasus
Awards trophy is an award that keeps its value. The custom engraved statue with
its chrome brushed base weighs nearly five pounds. It is a piece of art that
will look impressive on your desk, in your trophy case, and especially in your
client’s office for years to come.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
PEGASUS AWARDS?
Entries must have been produced by the nominee or in conjunction with a
production house. Programs produced within the last two years preceding the
entry deadline are eligible. Submissions may not have been nominated in any
previous Pegasus Award competitions.
The Pegasus
Awards assumes all entries are original, and the entrant either owns the work or
has permission from the client with all the rights granted therein. The Pegasus
Awards are not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the
entrant.
HOW DO I ENTER?
Click on our "Entry Form" link, register a user name and password, log in
and fill out the easy to use on-line form.
Registration
creates an account for you to use throughout the competition. You can use this
account to submit entries, access scoring and judges comments, and order extra
trophies and certificates. You can also have an entry form faxed to you or
enter via e-mail or phone at (480) 205-0785.
WHAT IS THE ENTRY FEE?
The entry fee is $60. There is a 20% discount for students. Productions may
be entered in multiple categories at $60 per category. Productions entered in
multiple categories are eligible to win multiple awards.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
We accept checks, money orders and most major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard,
and Discover). Credit card orders will be charged to "Entertainment Recognition
Group". Make checks payable to The Pegasus Awards.
WHAT FORMAT SHOULD I SUBMIT MY ENTRIES ON?
Entries may be submitted on VHS videotape or DVD.
CAN MULTIPLE ENTRIES BE SUBMITTED ON ONE TAPE OR DVD?
Because different categories may be judged at different locations, each entry should be on a separate videotape or DVD.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?
The next competition closes on July 25th, 2009
CAN I GET A DEADLINE EXTENSION?
Yes. Please e-mail deadline@pegasusawards.com so you can get an extension number.
WHAT ARE THE ENTRY CATEGORIES?
The categories are broken down into 7 main areas: commercials, corporate
communications, education, government, medical, public access, and special
event/wedding.
CAN I
ENTER THE SAME PRODUCTION IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT CATEGORIES?
Many
projects are entered in several categories. You may enter a production in as
many categories that you deem appropriate. Your entry will be judged separately
for each category, and is eligible to win an award in each category. Please be
aware that an entry fee will be charged for each category entered.
HOW WILL MY WORK BE JUDGED?
Each Pegasus Award nominee is judged by a set of industry standards and not
against other nominees. Three judges (two industry professionals and one end
user) review each nominee. An entry is graded through five different elements,
each worth a possible twenty points. The scores of the three judges are averaged
to determine the award level. All decisions of the judges are final.
WHAT TYPE OF FEEDBACK WILL I RECEIVE?
Another unique aspect of the Pegasus Awards is that every entry will receive
direct feed back from each judge in an effort to explain how his/her project was
assessed and why a particular score was given.
HOW MANY WINNERS ARE THERE PER CATEGORY?
There may be several winners in a category or there may be none. Winners are
based on the quality of their work. They are not compared to other nominees.
Entries earning a score of 100 - 88 receive the Award of Excellence. Entries
scoring 87 - 75 earn the Award of Honor. And entries scoring in the 65 - 74
range receive the Award of Distinction.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE JUDGING RESULTS?
Results are e-mailed to entrants approximately 45 days after the entry
deadline. Award of Excellence and Award of Honor winners are provided the
opportunity to purchase trophies and additional certificates to commemorate
their achievement.
Entrants who earn
Award of Distinction honors can purchase additional certificates. All entrants
receive one complimentary certificate.
WHAT DO THE TROPHIES LOOK LIKE?
The stunning Pegasus Award trophy was designed to best recognize your talent and
effort. Each Pegasus Award trophy is custom produced. It has a brushed-chrome metal foundation, and is
etched with the Pegasus Award logo. Your name and winning nomination title are
elegantly engraved onto the award. Award of Excellence winners are eligible for
an 11 ½" trophy, while Award of Honor winners are eligible for an 8 ½" trophy.
IF I WIN, HOW MUCH DO TROPHIES OR CERTIFICATES COST?
A complimentary certificate is included with each entry. Extra
certificates are only $15 plus shipping. In order to keep entry fees low, $265
is collected for each trophy ordered plus shipping.
CAN I CHOOSE WHAT THE INSCRIPTION WILL SAY?
Yes.
Winners can specify the exact name and entry title to be inscribed on their
certificates and engraved on their trophies. It is recommended that each line
be limited to 25 characters with a four line maximum.
MY COMPANY RECEIVED AN AWARD. CAN I PURCHASE A CERTIFICATE OR TROPHY FOR MYSELF?
Absolutely. Any contributor to the production of a winning entry may purchase a
Pegasus trophy and/or certificate. If you wish to honor your client or fellow
employees, additional awards and certificates may be customized with different
inscriptions.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY TROPHY OR CERTIFICATE?
Each
statue is custom produced, and we fulfill each order after payment and
inscription information is received. Your order will be shipped in
approximately 45 days. Rush service is available for an additional charge.
CAN I ORDER A
STATUE OR CERTIFICATE FROM A PREVIOUS COMPETITION?
Yes.
Statues and certificates are available at current pricing for past
competitions. WILL YOU SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHER COMPANIES?
You
will not receive communication from anyone other than the Pegasus Awards as a
result of submitting your entry. When orders are placed or account information
accessed, we provide a secure server that encrypts all information before it is
transmitted to us. ERG and the Pegasus Awards will never share or sell your
private information with any other company or entity.
WHAT IS THE PEGASUS CLUB?
The
Pegasus Club is a password protected area on our website. This is where Pegasus
Award entrants access competition results and judges comments. They can also
order extra certificates. Award of Excellence and Honor winners can also order
the acclaimed Pegasus Award statue. This area is also dedicated to helping
Pegasus winners promote their achievement.
